Dr. Nippoldt-Baca is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist and one of few board certified subspecialists in pediatric neuropsychology in the state. Dr. Nippoldt-Baca has been in the field for well over a decade and worked at the Minneapolis Clinic of Neurology for over 13 years before starting Midwest Minds. She is the team neuropsychologist for the Minnesota Vikings, and alternate team neuropsychologist for the Minnesota Wild, PWHL, and Minnesota United. Dr. Nippoldt-Baca serves on several committees for the Sports Neuropsychological Society, and has a podcast with five of her favorite power-women and sports neuropsychologists called, Drmomcast.
Dr. Nippoldt-Baca specializes in concussion; childhood and adult disorders, including: ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, developmental disorders, fetal alcohol syndrome, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, toxic exposure, and mental health disorders. Dr. Nippoldt-Baca completes independent neuropsychological evaluations, including record reviews and court-ordered neuropsychological evaluations, and is a HIMS approved aviation neuropsychologist, and able to complete FAA standard and fast track evaluations.
Lisa Nippoldt-Baca, Psy.D., LP, ABPP
Dr. Amy Steiner is a highly experienced, board-certified neuropsychologist with over 15 years in the field. She specializes in comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for individuals aged 16 and older, focusing on ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder—particularly in those who may mask their symptoms—learning disabilities, and the impact of traumatic brain injuries or concussions. Dr. Steiner employs a strength-based, person-centered approach, valuing the identification of strengths alongside weaknesses to develop effective, practical treatment plans.
Her expertise extends to differentiating neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and fronto-temporal dementia. She carefully considers comorbid conditions like mood disorders, PTSD, medication effects, and sleep disorders in her evaluations. Additionally, she provides neuropsychological testing to establish baseline cognitive function for early detection of atypical changes. She conducts independent evaluations for disability determinations and record reviews. Her work emphasizes thorough, individualized assessments that inform diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Steiner has extensive experience providing both outpatient and inpatient consultations across various settings, including Level 1 trauma centers. She has also worked with professional athletes, notably serving as the neuropsychologist for the Minnesota Wild and as a selected provider for the NCAA Concussion Medical Monitoring Program. Throughout her career, Dr. Steiner has maintained strong connections with neurology services, collaborating closely with neurologists, psychiatrists, therapists, and other medical professionals. She values collaboration with families and provides tailored psychoeducation to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Dr. Steiner is particularly attuned to and identifies with, the unique experiences of individuals from the GLBTQ+ community. A deeply fulfilling aspect of her role is helping patients and families reframe their symptoms and history positively, fostering healing and self-compassion. Her approach emphasizes growth and hope, empowering individuals on their journey to well-being.
Amy Steiner, Psy.D., LP, ABPP
Dr. Wiik is a pediatric neuropsychologist who is passionate about
empowering families to better understand and support their child’s
developmental and psychological needs. For more than a decade, Dr. Wiik
has provided outpatient evaluation and inpatient consultation within a Level I
trauma center and safety net hospital.
Clinically, Dr. Wiik works with a range of medical and neurodevelopmental
conditions including brain injury, prematurity and birth complications,
prenatal substance exposures and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD),
genetic differences, epilepsy, ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, and mental
health concerns. Dr. Wiik is experienced in considering complex clinical
presentations in the context of life factors such as developmental trauma,
adoption, multilingual learning, identity/intersectionality, and systemic
barriers to health equity. She also has extensive leadership, teaching, and
clinical supervision experience in neuropsychology and child clinical
psychology.
Away from work, Dr. Wiik enjoys time with family and friends, relaxing up
north at the cabin, and volunteering for her children's school. Some of her
favorite things are snuggles with her dog, coffee, music, and looking forward
to future travel adventures.
Kristen L Wiik, Ph.D., LP
Dr. Anne Sabraski is a clinical pediatric psychologist with close to fifteen years of experience in psychotherapy and diagnostic treatment. Throughout her practice, Dr. Sabraski has been driven by the principle that children should be met with warmth, validation and a supportive environment to help them achieve their full potential. Dr. Sabraski specializes in providing therapy to children and teenagers, particularly those with a history of adjustment disorders, trauma, domestic violence, Down syndrome, and general struggles with anxiety and depression. Dr. Sabraski especially enjoys working with adolescents and teenagers as they navigate the many life transitions, relationship changes, and self-growth that occurs during this period of life. This can be a very challenging and distressing time in a young person’s life, and throughout her experience Dr. Sabraski has developed extensive proficiency in working with this population. Dr. Sabraski aims to increase a child’s protective factors, challenge risk factors, and collaborate with the supportive adults in a child’s life to ensure that he or she is being provided with the tools necessary to create a strong foundation and build a physically and emotionally healthy life.
Dr. Sabraski’s knowledgeable and compassionate approach in therapy led her to establish a thriving pediatric practice within a large medical health setting. In addition to this long-standing role, Dr. Sabraski has experience in family therapy, group work, ongoing consultation, and a history of diagnostic assessments. Her experience includes Fetal Alcohol Assessments at the University of Minnesota, individual and family therapy at the Domestic Abuse Project, as well as therapy and neuropsychological evaluations at Masonic Children’s Hospital and Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center. Dr. Sabraski has conducted research in the field of attachment, and believes that early relationships and bonds continue to play a role in one’s interpersonal and emotional effectiveness throughout the life span.
